Mills River Animal Clinic was started in July of 1988 by Jennie and Michael Hernandez. The first building was a one exam room trailer manufactured to be a veterinary clinic. In July 1991 the present building was completed. The practice is considered a mixed animal practice.
We see bovine - mostly dairy, small animals - dogs and cats and smaller exotics such as ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice and chinchillas.
We offer a wide range of small animal veterinary services. We promote preventative medicine by recommending vaccination schedules, heartworm and intestinal worm preventatives, dental care, geriatic bloodwork and microchip placement.
We believe in routine spaying and castration of pets. We have the capability for in house bloodwork and radigraphs and do soft tissue surgeries routinely. we do believe in referring cases to specialists when it is called for and have many contacts with excellent referral practices. We try to provide services for pets in a similar fashion that a general practicioner provides in a family practice.
